Introduction
The protection of your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal data are of particular concern to us. We therefore explain below which of your data we process and for what purpose, and what rights you have in this regard. We comply with the applicable data protection laws, in particular the Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG) (revised as of September 1, 2023) and the associated Data Protection Ordinance (DSV). Where applicable, we also comply with the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Categories of personal data, type and purpose of processing
We primarily process personal data that we receive from our customers and other business partners as part of our business relationship with them, and we process the data in order to carry out our business activities.
We process the following categories of personal data:
• From individuals: Surname, first name, e-mail address, age, gender, profession, photo, description of skills, description of projects etc.; When registering for premium service: payment and billing information.
• From companies: Surname, first name, e-mail address, and other contact information of company representatives, as well as company details relevant to job postings and customer interactions.
We process personal data as follows:
• For personal data of individuals: Save, read, use for the performance and enhancement of our service.
• For personal data of companies: Save, read, use for the performance and enhancement of our service.
The purpose of the processing is in particular:
• For personal data of individuals: The data is processed to offer services such as job opportunities, networking with industry professionals, showcase their skills and managing profiles on our platform.
• For personal data of companies: The data is processed to allow companies to search for qualified individuals, post job listings, and manage business interactions on our platform.
The legal basis for processing as required under GDPR is:
For individuals: Processing is necessary for the performance of contract between the individual and Skill n Depth art. 6 (1) b) GDPR when using the platform services such as profile creation or job applications.
For companies: Processing is necessary for the performance of contract between the company and Skill n Depth art. 6 (1) b) GDPR when companies use the platform to search for candidates, post jobs and interact with individuals.
If you have given us your consent to process your personal data for specific purposes (for example, when you register to receive newsletters), we will process your personal data within the scope of and based on this consent, on the legal basis of art. 6 (1) a) GDPR: consent, unless we have another legal basis and require one.
Personal data is stored until the statutory retention periods expire (generally 10 years for accounting and other documents) and then deleted. If there is no statutory retention obligation, the personal data will be deleted as soon as we no longer need it to achieve the purpose for which it was collected.
3. Transfer of personal data
Your personal data will only be transferred to external recipients for the above-mentioned purposes or with your consent. In particular, your data will be transmitted to the following categories of recipients:
External service providers may process personal data for purposes such as verification.
Third party service providers (e.g. as associations or companies that issue certificates) if such a service is used through our services.
The personal data passed on may only be processed by the recipients for the above-mentioned purposes.
In principle, your personal data will only be processed in Switzerland, the European Union or a country with an adequate level of data protection in accordance with Art. 16 para. 1 DSG or Art. 45 GDPR and transferred to such countries.
If a transfer to another third country takes place, we ensure that a guarantee in accordance with Art. 16 para. 2 DSG or Art. 46 et seq. GDPR is available. We will provide a copy of the guarantee on request.

4. Processing when visiting our website
We typically use cookies and similar technologies on our website to identify your browser or device. A cookie is a small file that is sent to your computer or automatically stored on your computer or mobile device by the web browser you use when you visit our website. This enables us to recognize you when you return to this website, even if we do not know who you are. In addition to cookies that are only used during a session and are deleted after your visit to the website (session cookies), cookies can also be used to store user settings and other information for a certain period of time (e.g. two years) (permanent cookies). You can set your browser so that it rejects cookies, only saves them for one session or otherwise deletes them prematurely. Most browsers are preset to accept cookies. If you block cookies, certain functions of the website(s) may no longer work.
In some of our newsletters and other marketing emails, we also include visible and invisible image elements, where permitted, which we can retrieve from our servers to determine whether and when you have opened the email so that we can measure and better understand how you use our offers and tailor them to you. You can block this in your email program; most are pre-set to do this. By using our websites and agreeing to receive newsletters and other marketing emails, you consent to the use of these techniques. If you do not want this, you must set your browser or e-mail program accordingly, unless this can be adjusted via the settings.
We use Google Analytics on our website. This is a service of Google Ireland (based in Ireland), Google Ireland relies on Google LLC (based in the USA) as processor (both 'Google'), www.google.com, with which we can measure and evaluate the use of the website (non-personal). Permanent cookies set by the service provider are used for this purpose. We have configured the service so that the IP addresses of visitors to Google in Europe are truncated before being forwarded to the USA and therefore cannot be traced. We have switched off the settings 'Data transfer' and 'Signals'. Although we can assume that the information we share with Google is not personal data for Google, it is possible that Google can use this data for its own purposes to draw conclusions about the identity of visitors, create personal profiles and link this data to the Google accounts of these persons. If you have registered with the service provider yourself, the service provider also knows you. The processing of your personal data by the service provider is then the responsibility of the service provider in accordance with its data protection provisions. The service provider only informs us how our respective website is used (no information about you personally).
5. Rights of the data subjects
Data subjects have the rights applicable to them under the applicable data protection law (in particular the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability, complaint to the supervisory authority). To exercise your rights, you can contact the person(s) named at the beginning of this privacy policy at any time.
6. Changes to the privacy policy
We may amend this privacy policy at any time without prior notice. The current version published on our website shall apply. If the privacy policy is part of an agreement with you, we will inform you of the change by e-mail or other suitable means in the event of an update.
